The Birth of Sage Sister

The Birth of Sage Sister

Sage Sister is a gathering place for women seeking support from seasoned practitioners in the healing arts. After over a decade immersed in the healing arts myself, Sage Sister emerged as a reflection of the wisdom I’ve gained through my journey of service, personal healing, and spiritual exploration.

The idea for Sage Sister was born around the winter solstice of 2023, during a conversation with my husband and co-founder, Reuben Vollmer. I was venting about the challenge of finding clients for my somatic therapy mentorship. Reuben pointed out something that resonated with me: if I was struggling to find clients, there were likely many others in the healing field facing the same challenge.

This thought stayed with me. As a woman, I’ve always gravitated toward other women for support in my most vulnerable healing processes. While I’ve worked with male peers, there’s a unique depth that only women can offer—an intuitive understanding of experiences that are uniquely ours. Sage Sister is rooted in this truth: the wisdom we seek already exists within every woman. Sometimes, though, we need help remembering.

Sage Sister is a bridge connecting women who need support with those who carry the medicine of healing. It’s not about fixing anyone; it’s about seeing and honoring each other’s wholeness. As a somatic practitioner, I’ve come to understand the power of holding space—how our presence can profoundly impact others. Sage Sister was inspired by this work and the belief that every woman deserves to feel truly seen, heard, and supported in the rawness and messiness of life.

This platform is a sanctuary, a haven where women from all walks of life can find their team of support—whether for mind, body, emotion, or spirit. Sage Sister exists for every phase of life, for every challenge or blessing that comes our way. It is also a space for practitioners, the space-holders themselves, to thrive, activate their gifts, and share their medicine with the world.

We need strong connections and a sense of belonging to thrive as human beings. My mission is for Sage Sister to be a refuge—a place where women can easily find the support and connection they need, and where practitioners can share their wisdom and be nourished in return. May it be a powerful source of energy, inspiring women to connect deeply with themselves and navigate their journeys with resilience, grace, and sincerity.
